World’s Tallest Swing Ride Opens in Dubai Theme Park

The world’s tallest swing ride has opened at Bollywood Parks Dubai. The ride, called the Bollywood Skyflyer, is over 140 metres tall, which is about the same size as the Great Pyramid of Giza.

It has space for 24 people who sit in swings that hang from a tower. The swings are then lifted high into the air and spun in a circle.

The Bollywood Skyflyer is 3 metres taller than the Orlando Starflyer in the US. The previous record holder. It took 600 days to build, and 120 days to put up. The theme park opened the ride along with eight other new ones when it reopened on 21st January 2021 after being closed for months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The park’s general manager, Milton D’Souza, told CNN. “ the company used the time to create and build a new area in the park called the Mela Zone, which is where most of the new rides at Bollywood Parks Dubai are located”.

D’Souza says. ” the park also plans to open Dubai’s first wooden roller coaster called the Bombay Express, later in the year.”

Bollywood Parks Dubai first opened in November 2016. It’s one of four parks at Dubai Parks and Resorts, the largest theme park destination in the Middle East. With the others being Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park Dubai.
