Formerly Bombay until 1995. Mumbai is the new name. The British Raj built the Gateway of India arch in 1924. It was built to commemorate the first British monarch to visit India, King George V.
One thing you should do whilst in the city is to walk along the Marine Drive at night. Here you can view some fantastic sunsets. Watch the waves crash on the beach and do some people watching.
